There is so many proposals, it is hard to decide which to support. As a long time advocate for the poor, I know something must be done. However, the rest of us can't be taxed to death to pay for it. Two of my followers say the best option is to take care of yourself.

Then of course there is the public option.
“We’re trying to provide choice and competition for individuals and small business owners,” Mr. Gibbs said when asked if the public option was “essential.”
“The president strongly believes we need to provide choice and competition,” he said. Pressed on whether Mr. Obama would demand that a government insurance program be included in legislation, Mr. Gibbs said that it could be a “valuable component” of any health plan. And asked whether the president would reject a plan that did not include government insurance, Mr. Gibbs responded: “We are not going to prejudge where the process will be.”

I'm all for it--I paid $0 one year and $120 for dentist appointment the next. $120 in two years now that was affordable--i choose not to have health care for two years--because I had that choice.
During those two years I cared for myself health wise more than ever! I brushed my teeth and flossed daily--not every other day every single day! never got sick for two years! worked out at gym and at home 3-5 days every week...every week. I felt like a million bucks--so I kept doing it."

I think reforming the health care system in the U.S. is a top priority. It simply is not working effectively. The vast majority of people without health insurance coverage have not voluntarily elected to go without -- they cannot afford coverage and they need it. The majority of U.S. Presidents in the past 60 years supported significant health care reform ... and not just the Democrats. Republican Senator Pat Roberts, the Junior Senator from Kansas, was quoted on NPR and WIBW-TV as saying,
I have taken a hard look at the proposals before the Congress and I will not support ill-considered legislation that hurts those it intends to help. Many of the proposals will have dire consequences for patients – denying access to quality, affordable health care, raising taxes and rationing care. The unprecedented cost of a public plan will have a staggering effect on our economy.

Somthing has to be done to lower health expense Obama has the answers we need more choices and that will make prices come down
Greedy insurance companies and greedy big business is killing people people cant afford to go to the doctor or medicine because of evil profits we need fairness we need a nation-wide fund raising policy to pay for this lots of money can be raised by taxing sugar consumption and fast food and anything purchased from walmart should be a 50% tax on all the wealthy from $20,000 and up. People are dying because they half to chose between food and drugs
I support government regulation of health care. I support the government eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse.
However, I do not support a government owned health care system, or any other type of business.
Why you ask? Because government has no competition. They have no reason to run lean and profitable. Government has the ability to take away 100% of our income.
Give me a single example of when the US government ran anything, ANYTHING better than private enterprise?
What? Can't come up with a single example? Huh??
The problem with government is that they THINK they have unlimited resources with OUR money. That isn't true. The problem is, therefore, they run out of other people's money, OUR money, that was earned with blood, sweat and tears.
I am sick and tired of paying outlandish taxes and I am not going to take it anymore!
Throw the corrupt bastards out of office, immediately!
the government run option is the only one that makes sens we can make everyone healthy by putting a stop to smoking eating fast food and stopping drinking soft drinks there needs to be a law against having a large car with four cylinders or more we have to be more like china and ride bicylcs to work and walk to the store
if we have a fat tax then we can change peoples behavior if we have a rich tax we kill peoples desire to open business and make more money we can effectively kill their desire to work and be prodcutvie and the goal is to make everyone we can need goverment asistance put em on welfare and food stamps and give em a government job like picking up trash and campainging for democrats who will change our contry for a better place we have the answers we just need the will
We already have a government option, it's as simple as that. What this all comes down to is how expensive it is to get care even when you do have insurance! What if you hurt yourself and need a helicopter ride to the hospital? You'll be broke for a very long time just from that trip! We have to bring down expenses for the middle class and working poor so we can afford to take care of ourselves, because even preventative medicine (check-ups etc.) is too expensive! Instead of adding taxes on all the sugary drinks though, how about making healthy stuff like milk and juices cheaper? Many only drink the bad stuff because they can't afford the good ones.
I won't pretend I have the answer on health care, but I DO know that something has got to be done to fix it. Whether that's the public option or something else, I don't know, but it's broken and needs to be fixed.
