Google and Lenovo plan AR smartphones, using the ex-Motorola Project Tango technology. Yes, the two companies are terribly excited about this augmented-reality tech, but they don’t seem to be doing a great job of explaining why we should care.

Apparently, you can use it to play games, get directions, and measure things. Umm, that’s nice.

In IT Blogwatch, bloggers try harder to explain. Project Tango needs better demos—how about playing hopscotch with a pebble on Mars?..
